Port of Alaska Asset Management System Development

Client
Port of Alaska
Location
Anchorage, Alaska

Building upon the foundation established by the POA Geospatial Asset Management Conceptual Plan, R&M provided system configuration support to the Port in association with another GIS contractor to deploy a Cortex Essentials and Enesgy Documents Lease Manager web mapping application. This included development of specifications for the GIS data model, information security class designation, digital document naming conventions, data quality standards and asset inventory. R&M was responsible for installation of Geocortex, ArcGIS Online system administration, and support for Enesgy Documents integration. R&M staff coordinated with the MOA Office of Information Technology to define deployment specifications, establish system access, configure user preferences and further the goals of the POA Geospatial Asset Management System Plan. R&M provided weekly project status meetings in coordination with the POA staff, MOA departments and other project stakeholders.

The deployment of a Geospatial Asset Management System aids the Port of Alaska in managing the maintenance of the considerable infrastructure assets at the Port. The system allows engineering project documents to be integrated into the web application, putting project information at the fingertips of Port staff.
