UAA GIS Implementation Concept Plan and Implementation

Client

Location

R&M created a GIS Implementation Concept Plan to guide design, development and implementation of a high-utility, spatially based facilities management system. The long-term goal was full system integration into existing UAA business processes with special consideration given to system elements and phasing that would give the University a solid foundation of design components and specifications with recommendations for system implementation and future growth. R&M then worked with UAA to execute a Phase I implementation project for the main campus. This included system stand-up support, baseline data development, and interactive online campus map design and set-up. The goal was to implement a functional online mapping application to provide proof-of-concept to University leadership, yield a beneficial use for the UAA community, and establish a foundation to build further utility for facilities management and planning.

The project created a comprehensive data capture and conversion plan, mobile application conceptual assessment and development of an initial set of feature classes and supporting datasets as a baseline for future creation of a web map-based asset management application.
