R&M provided surveying, public involvement, design study report, utility conflict resolution, and plans, specifications and estimates for this urban safety improvement project. By converting the two-way stop-controlled intersection into a multi-lane roundabout, including contraflow bypass provisions for OS/OW trucks, the project mitigated above-average crash rates. The project also improved non-motorized access by enhancing connectivity.

R&M conducted a full-scale truck trial of the proposed roundabout geometry to convince the skeptical trucking industry their concerns were being addressed. We documented the event with a drone-mounted aerial camera and used the footage during subsequent public involvement events.
