Senior Hydrographer

Marta has 16 years of experience in the hydrographic surveying and GIS industries. She has spent most of her career in Alaska, specializing in shallow water and coastal projects throughout the state. Marta’s hydrographic strengths include project planning, data processing, and product quality control. Marta’s GIS skills include geoprocessing, GIS database design, and web applications. Over her career, she has managed hydrographic projects for challenging and high-profile projects, including for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and private contractors. Marta is well-versed in a variety of GIS, hydrographic, and survey software.

  • What places are on your travel bucket list?
    Somewhere in Africa, maybe in South Africa - it's the only continent I haven't been to.
  • If you weren’t doing your current job, what would be your dream job?
    Sailing the world on a teaching vessel, which would also have a gourmet kitchen, or a trainer for an avalanche search and rescue dogs.
  • What are you curious about?
    I'm curious about how animals and kids perceive the world.

    Last Man Standing and Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.
  • What is one skill you are currently working on?
    Improving skills for working with airborne LiDAR data and drones, while transferring my hydrographic and GIS skills to R&M's current projects.
