Engineering Technician

John has eight years of experience in materials testing. He is skilled in material sampling and testing, as well as concrete sampling and testing, both in the field and laboratory. John is also experienced in several methods of ground exploration, including borehole drilling/sampling, electrical resistivity, seismic refraction, seismic linear micro-tremor, and 2D and 3D imaging. He mainly works in the laboratory, conducting materials testing and maintenance, as well as training for additional materials knowledge and certifications.

  • What places are on your travel bucket list?
    Canada, Mexico, Washington DC, Ireland, UK, tour of Europe and New Zealand.
  • What are you most likely doing on the weekend?
    Goofing off as much as possible. Walking the dog, playing video games, reading, watching movies and cooking, all with my girlfriend.
  • What are you curious about?
    My future! Being new to Alaska, there are so many adventures out there waiting for me. I'm very excited to see how it all unfolds.
  • What is one skill you are currently working on?
    Cooking foreign foods.

    The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series, Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase books, and Clive Cussler books.
