R&M provided construction administration services for this federally-funded project that improved the structural section with a foamed asphalt base and new asphalt surfacing for Runway 16/34, Taxiways A, D and H, Taxilane B and the aprons. Construction began in 2021 and was completed in fall 2022. The components included new runway and taxiway lighting systems, runway markings and navigational aids. The project also included installing an extensive rip rap revetment along the Kuskokwim River off the end of Runway 34.

The McGrath Airport is located within a bend along the Kuskokwim River, and the water has moved just a few feet away from the runway and access roads on occasion. This project provided a rip rap revetment off the end of the Runway 34 to protect the airport.
