Staff Engineer

Sigurd has one year of experience, previously working as an engineering intern for the Alaska Railroad Corporation. While there, he performed various engineering tasks in support of railroad operations and maintenance. This includes project management, bid documents, submittal registers, civil site work and environmental assessments. In addition, Sigurd’s field experience includes bridge inspections, culvert assessments and docks/slips inspections along the rail system. He also has two years of carpentry and general construction experience, giving him a well-rounded perspective of the engineering and construction process.

  • If you weren’t doing your current job, what would be your dream job?
    Starting up a hydropower company in Alaska.
  • What is a fun fact few people know about you?
    I competed in cross country skiing in college for five seasons., with a 2nd place finish in the NCAA championships as my best individual result.
  • What are you curious about?
    I am curious about different cultures. Since I am from Norway it is fun to see how it is living here in the USA and how the indigenous people are living in the villages in Alaska.
  • If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
    That would definitely be teleporting. In that way I could travel wherever I want in a second.
  • What are your favorite books?
    I was a big fan of the Harry Potter books when I was a kid.
