R&M’s Construction Services Department Hires New Staff Engineers

Ross Boling, EIT, PMP, CESCL, WAQTC and Sigurd Roenning, CESCL, WAQTC recently joined R&M as Staff Engineers in the firm’s Construction Services Department. In this role, Ross and Sigurd will assist with the administration of federal and state-funded construction contracts, including overseeing day-to-day construction operations of airport, highway, railroad and waterfront construction projects, as well as structural vertical and industrial projects.

Ross has five years of construction experience, including project engineering and construction administration of large infrastructure projects. He has performed SWPPP Inspections, material inspections and quality control tasks for a variety of civil infrastructure projects, including airports, fish passage facilities, utilities and dams. Ross has also performed management duties as the on-site representative for numerous construction projects, including stakeholder management, project submittals, RFIs, project schedules, change orders, inspections and closeout tasks. He enjoys is currently working in Soldotna for the construction season on the Funny River Road and Cohoe Loop Road MP 0-9.7 Pavement Preservation Project

Ross has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, is an Engineer-in-Training, an Alaska Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead and Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction Qualified in Aggregate, Concrete, Embankment and Base, Density and Sampling.

Sigurd has one year of experience, previously working as an engineering intern for the Alaska Railroad Corporation. While there, he performed various engineering tasks in support of railroad operations and maintenance. This includes project management, bid documents, submittal registers, civil site work and environmental assessments. In addition, Sigurd’s field experience includes bridge inspections, culvert assessments and docks/slips inspections along the rail system. He is currently conducting SWPPP inspections at the Kipnuk Airport until the end of the construction season.

Sigurd Roenning

Sigurd has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is an Alaska Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead and Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction Qualified in Aggregate, Asphalt, Concrete, Embankment and Base, and Density.
