Lauren Hurst

Survey Technician

Lauren has two years of surveying and GIS experience. She has developed custom web applications, geodatabases, dashboards, and cartographic products for federal and state clients. Lauren’s experience also includes contributing to national scientific study efforts in multiple National Parks, automating workflows with Python scripts and developing a variety of mapping products, such as georeferenced orthomosaics, and mobile map packages. She is experienced in the range of ESRI mapping products, GPS surveying methods and LiDAR. Lauren is passionate about applying geospatial technologies to aid in the development of communities as well as the management of wildlife, resources and utilities.

  • What places are on your travel bucket list?
    I would really like to visit Japan, Thailand, Italy and New Zealand.
  • What are you most likely doing on the weekends?
    Working on my cabin, getting outside with friends, listening to live music and practicing landscape photography.
  • If you weren’t doing your current job, what would be your dream job?
    I loved my time working as a forest ranger and would do it all over again!
  • What is one skill you are currently working on?
    Playing the acoustic guitar.
