Laron Thomas

Survey Technician

Laron has three years of surveying experience. He has performed boundary, design, topographic, asbuilt and hydrographic surveys for a variety of projects throughout Alaska. Laron is also experienced in land ownership and boundary research, and creating and editing easement, survey data and plat land maps. He is proficient in the use of Trimble GPS, total station instruments and AutoCAD Civil3D.

  • What places are on your travel bucket list?
    The Hayes Range of Deborah, McInnis, Hayes and Moffit; Yosemite; Canmore, B.C; Chamonix; and Cochise Stronghold.
  • What are you most likely doing on the weekend?
    Scrambling peaks in the Chugach with my wife and three kiddos. And often running, rock/ice climbing, hiking and doing house chores with them, as well.
  • If you weren’t doing your current job, what would be your dream job?
    Linguistic anthropologist or mountain guide in Europe.
  • What is one skill you are currently working on?
    Cooking healthy food that is delicious to my kiddos.
  • If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
    It might be interesting to be able to jump high and far with super bouncy, spring-like legs, ankles and feet.
