Staff Engineer

Jonathan joined R&M as a staff engineer in April 2020. He began working as a lab technician and material inspector in the firm’s Construction Administration Group and has since transferred into our Surface Transportation Group. Using his experience in the construction field, Jonathan takes part in the development of plan sets, engineer estimates and memorandums. He also produces various AutoCAD figures to highlight complex and uncommon road and parcel information. He has become familiar with Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities Northern, Central and Southcoast Region standards for producing plan sets.

  • What are you most likely doing on the weekend?
    I always like to visit my close group of friends and try new activities.
  • If you weren’t doing your current job, what would be your dream job?
    I would want to be a foley artist, the people who create sounds for films such as footsteps or squeaking doors through the use of props.
  • What are you curious about?
    Why do we drive on the parkway and park on the driveway.
  • What is one skill you are currently working on?
    I'm always picking up and dropping new hobbies. Currently I'm trying to get into whittling.
  • What are your favorite books?
    I enjoy horror short stories. "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" is a personal favorite.
