March 9, 2022
Vanessa Crandell, CPG, an Environmental Geologist with R&M, recently earned her Certified Professional Geologist (CPG) certification. She is now a CPG in Alaska.
The CPG certification is administered by the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG), an association dedicated to advancing the geological sciences and promoting the profession of geology. This certification recognizes geologists based on their education, experience, competence, integrity and ethics. Eligible professionals must have eight or more years of experience in the study of the earth, and be engaged in the investigation and evaluation of earth materials and fluids and geologic processes. Once CPG certification is received from AIPG, the State of Alaska licensing board will grant an Alaska CPG.

She works to support contaminated site and geotechnical investigation work for a variety of Alaskan infrastructure projects. Current projects including preparing for a geotechnical and environmental drilling project on Fort Wainwright and compiling a report for recent work in Seward involving soil, groundwater, indoor air and soil gas sampling.
