Abram Throm, EIT Joins R&M’s Surface Transportation Group

Abram Throm, EIT recently joined R&M as a Staff Engineer in the firm’s Surface Transportation Group. This spring Abram will support the planning and design of various surface transportation projects, such as roadways, pedestrian facilities and utility relocations. During the summer, he will support R&M’s Construction Services Department, working on construction administration projects.

Abram recently graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Before joining R&M, he was an intern for the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, assisting in research used for the development of construction plans, specifications and estimates. Abram designed roadway features, verified consistency and accuracy of plans through each developmental stage, and prepared erosion and sediment control plans. Since joining R&M, Abram has been working on the Airport Way West Improvements and Fairview Loop Road Rehabilitation projects.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Abram lives with his elderly cat Marble who he rescued from the shelter five years ago. In his free time, he loves listening to and playing music on his guitar and trumpet. Abram is also a very big fan of Wisconsin sports – the Brewers, Bucks and Packers.
