Two University of Alaska graduates recently joined the R&M team:

Corey Prewett, EIT, CESCL joined R&M’s Site Development Group in May 2016 as a Staff Engineer. He provides civil engineering support on site development projects, including schools, universities, harbors and other facilities. His responsibilities include AutoCAD drafting on building sites, including grading and drainage; submittal reviews; specification creation; and report review.

Before graduating in 2015 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), Corey served as President for the Institute of Transportation Engineers, UAA Chapter and the American Society of Civil Engineers, UAA Chapter. His previous experience includes working as a Traffic Analyst for the Municipality of Anchorage and as a Construction Intern for the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF).

Since joining R&M, Corey has been responsible for submittal reviews for the DOT&PF SWPF Class V Injection Well Closure project, AutoCAD work for different UAA projects, and grading, specification review and AutoCAD drafting for the F-35 Eielson Earth Covered Magazines project.

“After interacting with R&M employees at various ASCE student functions, it was clear to me that R&M had a very good reputation and their involvement in the community was a huge reason why I decided to join the firm.”

Corey has lived in Anchorage his entire life. He chose to stay in Alaska because he enjoys the engineering community and the wide range of challenges Alaskan engineers are faced with. In his spare time, Corey plays, watches or coaches soccer. He also enjoys camping with his family and playing board games with friends.

Robert Colles, EIT, CESCL joined R&M in May 2016 as Staff Engineer in our Airport Engineering Group and is responsible for providing civil engineering design support for airport and utility projects. Robert previously worked with R&M as an intern in our materials laboratory for the past two summers before being hired full-time after graduation from the University of Fairbanks Alaska with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.

“I came back to R&M full-time because I had great experiences working for the materials lab the past two summers and the consistently positive attitudes of the current employees.”

Robert Colles, EIT – Staff Engineer

As an intern, Robert provided materials testing and special inspections on road, airport, harbor and other facility projects. Since joining R&M full-time, Robert has worked on the Baronoff Booster Station Well Survey project and will be assisting with the Dillingham Runway Rehabilitation Design Services project.

Robert has lived in Alaska since middle school when his father was stationed at Elmendorf Airforce Base and intends to live, work and play in this state long-term. He enjoys trail runs, hiking, backpacking, fishing, and bear and moose hunting. In the winter he spends his time cross country skiing or at Alyeska snowboarding.
