Staff Engineer Joins R&M’s Site Development Group

Victoria Nelson recently joined R&M as a Staff Engineer in the firm’s Site Development Group. In this position, Victoria will assist with design of urban and rural site development projects throughout Alaska. This includes site layout, vehicle and pedestrian access, ADA access, driveways and parking, signing and striping, grading and drainage, stormwater analysis and management, and water and sewer utility services connections. 

Victoria has two years of engineering experience. This includes working as a design engineer intern for a multi-discipline engineering firm where she assisted in design and completion for residential and commercial developments using AutoCAD Civil 3D. She also analyzed and designed a multi-story commercial steel building and drafted a new road design for the City of Springdale, Arkansas for her senior design projects.

 Since joining R&M, Victoria has supported design of site development projects, such as the new Seldovia Clinic and a multi-family housing project for Cook Inlet Housing Authority. She has assisted in performing site layouts, design of water and sanitation systems, site grading and storm drain systems.

Victoria has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from University of Arkansas. Originally from Arkansas, Victoria recently moved to Anchorage to explore the state and new opportunities. It’s been a dream of hers to experience Alaska. Outside of work, Victoria enjoys camping, hiking, visiting with friends and driving to see new places. She also loves to travel and explore new cultures.
