R&M was ranked #31 nationally in ZweigWhite’s 2015 Best Civil Engineering Firms to Work For list, representing the firm’s sixth year on this list.

“One of the things that makes R&M stand out is we all have a stake in the company’s success. We are very team-driven and operate in a way that puts collective goals ahead of personal gains. In the past 13 years we have grown from less than 50 to more than 140 employees. We continue to succeed because we are an adaptable team that can rise to any challenge and we do great work. Everyone at R&M is smart, energetic and fun to work with and I love the fact we are an all Alaskan-owned company competing head-to-head with national and global firms.”

Len Story, PLS – R&M Chief Operating Officer

ZweigWhite is the nation’s leader in enhancing business performance for architecture, engineering and environmental consulting firms. Each year they evaluate engineering firms throughout the United States and Canada and put out a list recognizing the top civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, multidiscipline and environmental firms. Firms are ranked based on workplace practices, employee benefits, employee retention rates and more through a survey distributed to and filled out by employees. Firms selected create an environment where their people feel valued, can make a difference and can clearly see their contribution to the overall mission and success of the firm.

Based on the survey results, R&M’s employees feel the firm is client-focused, team oriented, supportive of professional goals and focused on integrity. One respondent wrote, “R&M is a consulting and engineering firm that takes care of its employees, making sure they are trained professionally for their best performance in the field. They work well with everyone’s schedules and strive to make the company a tight-knit community rather than a workplace, while still enforcing professional ethics.”
