Carina Perez, CESCL Joins R&M’s Construction Services Department

Carina Perez, CESCL recently joined R&M as an Engineering Associate in the firm’s Construction Services Department. In this role, Carina will provide office engineering on a variety of Alaska infrastructure construction projects, assuring construction work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications and established procedures.

Carina has 17 years of construction experience in Alaska. She spent the past 15 years as an Office Engineer for the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region. In this position, Carina provided technical support and coordination on construction projects, which included cost control and estimating; maintaining project records and documentation; reviewing construction drawings, specifications and other project documents; and ensuring compliance and conformance with all applicable regulations and permits. She is also experienced in a variety of construction inspections. These include pipe installation, paving, guardrail, curb and gutter, ADA compliance and stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) inspections. In addition, Carina served as the Assistant Erosion & Sediment Control Advisor for the past few years, managing all Notice of Intents (NOI)/Notice of Termination (NOT) for DOT&PF Central Region projects. She excels at helping ensure construction projects are completed successfully, on time and within budget, while maintaining quality and adhering to safety standards.

Since joining R&M, Carina has been providing office engineering for the Noorvik Airport Rehabilitation and Skagway Dyea Road projects.

Carina is an Alaska Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead and an American Traffic Safety Services Association Traffic Control Supervisor. When she’s not at work, Carina enjoys farmer’s market and live music events with friends and family. She also loves to travel and spends a lot of time on her boat in Homer.
