Abby Ljubicich, EIT, a Staff Engineer in R&M’s Airport Engineering Group, has successfully earned her Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.

The first step towards obtaining a professional engineering license, the EIT certification recognizes a person’s fundamental understanding of engineering principles and practices. To gain this certification, an individual must have completed an accredited engineering degree program and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.

“We are super proud of Abby obtaining her EIT. This is one of her beginning milestones towards earning her PE license. Abby is joyful, has a positive attitude and is a super talented engineer. We are honored to have her on our team.”

Carla Baxley, PE – Group Manager of Airport Engineering

Abby has been with R&M for two years and is based in the firm’s Fairbanks office. She started as an engineering intern in the firm’s Construction Administration Group, providing materials testing on airport and roadway construction projects. After graduation, Abby moved into R&M’s Airport Engineering Group where she supports planning and design for airport improvement projects throughout Alaska. Her airport project work includes the Nanwalek-Port Graham Airport Relocation, Kwethluk Airport Rehabilitation and Bethel Main Runway Reconstruction projects.

“I’m excited to have my EIT! I still have a lot to learn, but it gets me one step closer to having my PE.”
