R&M plays a role in creating happy and healthy Alaskan communities

Community is a core value at R&M

With more than 100 employees who live, work and play in Alaska, we have many reasons to invest in our home. Our work allows us to contribute to Alaskan communities through the development of critical infrastructure that improves the day-to-day lives of Alaskans, but we also believe in giving back in other ways. Our investment efforts take the form of volunteerism and giving programs where we focus on the causes important to our industry and employees, including STEM-related events, education, youth sports, wellness, parks and trails, and more. By investing in Alaska, we play a role in creating happy and healthy communities, and improving the lives of our families, friends and neighbors.

R&M embodies what a community-minded business should look like. They apply initiative, ingenuity and leadership to 100 Miles in May and other causes their employees feel passionate about.

HARLOW ROBINSON Healthy Futures/Alaska Sports Hall of Fame

MLK Day of Caring Flex Holiday

R&M provides eight hours of paid time for our employees to serve our community. This translates to approximately 800 hours of volunteer time annually for community organizations.

100 Miles in May

An in-house wellness challenge transitioned to an AEC community fundraiser for Healthy Futures – raising nearly $50,000 over its first five years. Healthy Futures now administers the event and it has become a statewide event and their largest fundraiser.

Annual Charity Golf Tournament

R&M has raised more than $60,000 over the past 10 years to benefit local non-profits through a fun golf event for employees, clients and teaming partners.

Adopt-a-Highway

R&M has participated in the Adopt-a-Highway Program for more than 20 years – picking up trash along the Seward Highway between Huffman Road and O’Malley Road three times each year.

CANstruction

R&M designs and constructs a structure entirely of cans each spring as part of this A/E community event to benefit the Food Bank of Alaska.
