Kristin Mallett

Engineering Intern

Kristin is a second-year engineering intern with R&M, supporting materials testing for airport and highway improvement projects across Alaska. She works in the firm’s materials laboratory, where she performs a variety of tests, including sieve analysis, LA and Nordic abrasion, Proctor, asphalt content, compaction and concrete strength. Previously, Kristin worked as an undergraduate research assistant for the UAF College of Engineering and Mines, using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS StoryMaps to inform about landslides in Haines. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, gardening and appreciating Alaska’s natural beauty, especially the rocks.

    Sleeping, hanging out with friends, hiking, looking at rocks or playing video games.

    I memorized 80 something digits of Pi and I crochet.
  • When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
    Doctor, rockstar, translator, physicist and geologist.

    Teleportation
