Nick Parker, LSIT, Lindsey Sutherland and Adam Dalton, EIT recently joined R&M.

Nick joined R&M’s Land Surveying Group as a Staff Surveyor. He has spent the last four summers as a Geomatics Intern with the firm, returning full-time after earning his B.S. in Geomatics from the University of Alaska Anchorage this past May. Nick has provided field surveying for airport, highway, trail and subdivision projects across the state, excelling in hands-on field work.

“I came back to R&M, because, even after applying at various other firms and agencies over the years, R&M is still the most competitive employer and best work environment I’ve encountered. I enjoy the variety of places I travel to for work.  I regularly see places in Alaska that I would never go to otherwise.” – Nick Parker

Nick is a Land Surveyor-in-Training and an FAA Part 107 Certified Remote Pilot. He is an avid outdoorsperson who enjoys backcountry splitboarding, mountain biking, paddleboarding, packrafting and kayaking.

Lindsey joined the firm in our Fairbanks office as an Environmental Specialist in the firm’s Environmental Services Group. She brings three years of experience specializing in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance and documentation. Lindsey has supported NEPA processes for agencies such as the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service and Department of Defense, collaborating with multi-discipline teams, stakeholders and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and meet project deadlines.

“I was excited for the opportunity to join the R&M team because it’s an Alaskan-based organization that does unique and impactful environmental work across the great state. Alaska can be a harsh place to conduct environmental services, but R&M’s history and cumulative experience as a team provides a wealth of knowledge to navigate the challenges of tough Alaskan field work and environmental research.” – Lindsey Sutherland

Lindsey holds a B.S. in Geology from Clemson University, an M.S. in Geology from Idaho State University and is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in NEPA from Utah State University. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking the Goldstream trails with her pup Yogi, exploring plant identification, practicing watercolor art, and has a passion for understanding people and other cultures.

Adam joined R&M as a Staff Engineer in the firm’s Water Resources Group. He has five years of experience in water resources and civil infrastructure projects, including aquatic organism passage design, site drainage, grading, road and bridge projects, and wetland mitigation. Adam’s background includes hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, dam safety and drainage studies, using tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D, HEC-HMS and EPA SWMM.

“The more I learned about R&M the more confident I became in its potential to be a long-term fit and a home for mastering the craft of engineering. More than anything though, it’s the people here that make this the place to be.” – Adam Dalton

Adam holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah and an Associate of Pre-Engineering from Salt Lake Community College. Outside of work, he enjoys alpine skiing, biking, camping, cooking, fishing, gardening and working on home improvement projects like finishing his basement and yard.
