R&M is currently seeking a team-oriented Land Surveyor to join our respected market-leading Geomatics Department. R&M is a leading provider of surveying, GIS and geomatics services to public and private clients throughout Alaska.

As a member of the R&M team, the Land Surveyor would be responsible for collection and production of surveying and mapping projects in accordance with current Alaska Society of Professional Land Surveyors Standards of Practice manual. The successful applicant will perform surveying and mapping tasks under the direct supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor. The Land Surveyor will be engaged in supporting the collection, processing and mapping of survey data. The Land Surveyor also provides day-to-day support as required to the surveying and mapping team.

The successful applicant will be expected to represent R&M and actively participate in professional organizations and community activities.

The Land Surveyor reports to the Vice President of Geomatics and to Senior Land Surveyors within the surveying and mapping team, depending on project assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Geomatics, Land Surveying or a similar field, and have passed the Fundamentals of Land Surveying Exam. Two years or more of surveying and mapping experience is desired. Computer skills should include Autodesk/AutoCAD, Trimble Geomatics Office, and Microsoft Excel and Word. Physical work, overtime hours and travel within Alaska will be required.
