R&M CONSULTANTS, INC. is a well-established, employee-owned Alaskan professional services firm. Since 1969, R&M has participated in some of Alaska’s most significant and technically challenging infrastructure projects. R&M’s Administration Department supports multiple disciplines in the firm’s Anchorage and Fairbanks locations.

R&M is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to provide general administrative support. The primary function of this position is to staff the front desk, answering the telephone and serving as a professional and courteous initial point-of-contact for clients, vendors and other visitors to our office. A secondary function is providing exceptional administrative support to R&M’s professional, technical and administrative staff.

Specific tasks may include: answering telephones, providing basic information to callers, routing callers to appropriate staff members, setting up conference calls for meetings, greeting clients and vendors, copying, shredding, scanning documents, preparing documents, running business errands, and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned. The successful applicant will maintain an orderly reception area and supply room, and assist with keeping the conference rooms and main kitchen neat and stocked.

The Administrative Assistant will report to the Office Services Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a High School diploma and a minimum of two years of experience in reception and/or general office administration. The successful applicant will have excellent customer service skills, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, exceptional spelling and grammar skills, and experience operating general office equipment. Punctuality, integrity and a commitment to exceptional customer service and quality are a must. A friendly, professional demeanor is critical. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
