Description
R&M Consultants, Inc. is a well-established, employee-owned multi-discipline Alaskan firm specializing in cold regions civil and structural engineering. Over the past 39 years, R&M has participated in some of Alaska’s most significant and technically challenging civil infrastructure projects, such as the Trans Alaska Pipeline System, Seward Highway Canyon Creek Bridge, and the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport Terminal C Redevelopment.
R&M is currently seeking a team-oriented staff structural engineer to support expansion of our Structural Engineering Group.
The Structural Engineer should be able to perform independent analysis and design for wood frame, masonry and light steel framing, as well as for marine structures. Project tasks may include planning studies, preliminary engineering, final design and construction services.
The successful applicant will also be expected to represent R&M and actively participate in professional organizations and community activities.
The Staff Structural Engineer will work under supervision of the Group Manager: Structural Engineering in close coordination with other team members.
Minimum Qualifications
The position requires a B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering, an E.I.T. certificate and three or more years of experience with a thorough knowledge of the International Building Code. Familiarity with AutoCAD/Land Desktop desirable, as well as basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excell. All candidates should have good interpersonal abilities for working in a team environment and strong written and verbal communication skills.
