Job Description

R&M Consultants, Inc. is a well-established, employee-owned multi-discipline Alaskan firm specializing in cold regions civil engineering. Over the past 41 years, R&M has participated in some of Alaska’s most significant and technically challenging civil infrastructure projects, such as the Trans Alaska Pipeline System, Seward Highway Canyon Creek Bridge, and the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport Terminal C Redevelopment.

R&M is currently seeking a team-oriented senior project engineer to support expansion of our engineering capabilities in our Fairbanks office.

As a member of the R&M team, the senior project engineer will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, assisting in the preparation of proposals, developing project budgets, and performing independent analysis and design for engineering projects. Project tasks may include planning, studies, preliminary engineering, final design and construction services. Duties include supervising project engineers, staff engineers, engineering technicians and interns, and coordinating project deliverables with R&M’s outstanding Surveying and Mapping, Earth Sciences and Construction Services Departments to meet client schedules. This position involves participation in project meetings, client meetings and public meetings.

The successful applicant will also be expected to represent R&M and actively participate in professional organizations and community activities. The ideal candidate will have experience on projects for the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities and the Fairbanks North Star Borough.

The senior project engineer will work under the supervision of the Senior Vice President - Engineering in close coordination with other team members.

Minimum Qualifications

The position requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering and 10 or more years of experience in general civil design work. All candidates should have good interpersonal abilities for working in a team environment and strong written and verbal communication skills. Alaska P.E. required or able to obtain by reciprocity.
