R&M CONSULTANTS, INC. is a well-established, employee-owned multi-discipline Alaskan professional services firm. Since 1969, R&M has participated in some of Alaska’s most significant and technically challenging infrastructure projects.

R&M is currently seeking a team-oriented staff civil engineer to support expansion of our Anchorage civil engineering staff.

The Staff Civil Engineer will assist with planning and design of civil engineering projects, with an emphasis in utility design, such as water and sewer improvements. Work may include preparation of engineering study reports, design for construction plans, utility permitting, contract specifications, cost estimates and final bid documents for various public and private development clients. Additional duties will include occasional fieldwork for pre-design condition assessments and construction site inspections.

The successful applicant will be expected to represent R&M and actively participate in professional organizations and community activities.

The Staff Civil Engineer will report to Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers in our Anchorage office, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

The position requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering with an E.I.T. certificate. It is desirable to have prior engineering work experience or internship in the areas of general civil engineering and/or utility projects. Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D is desirable, as well as basic skills in Microsoft Office. All candidates should have good interpersonal abilities for working in a team environment, and strong written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and detail oriented.
