Since 1969, R&M has participated in some of Alaska’s most significant and technically challenging infrastructure projects. R&M is a leading provider of Surveying, Right of Way and GIS services to public and private clients throughout Alaska.

R&M is currently seeking a team-oriented Senior Land Surveyor to join our respected market-leading Geomatics Department.

As a member of the R&M team, the Senior Land Surveyor would be responsible for production of surveying and mapping projects in accordance with current standards of practice. The successful applicant will schedule, assign and supervise work of survey parties engaged in collection, processing and mapping of survey data. The Senior Land Surveyor will also provide advanced professional, technical, day-to-day support, guidance and input to staff and other team members. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing project submittals and ensuring that project budgets are met, and for reviewing each project upon completion for quality assurance.

The successful applicant will be expected to represent R&M and actively participate in professional organizations and community activities.

The Senior Land Surveyor reports to the Group Manager of Land Surveying or Group Manager of Right of Way Services and is given sufficient authority to successfully complete assigned duties, responsibilities, goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a PLS in the State of Alaska with 5 to 10 years of surveying and mapping experience, performing research, reducing field notes, preparing base maps and performing office computations. Must have working knowledge of survey equipment, data collectors and reduction of conventional and GPS survey data. Computer skills should include Autodesk/AutoCAD, Trimble Geomatics Office, and Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience performing field-to-finish projects is desired. Travel within Alaska will be required.
