R&M’s Earth Sciences Department is a leading provider of environmental, planning, and geological/geotechnical services to public and private clients throughout Alaska.
R&M is currently seeking an Environmental Specialist to join our well-respected Environmental Services Group. The successful applicant will be responsible for environmental compliance tasks including NEPA impact analysis, regulatory permitting, environmental baseline monitoring, Phase I/II ESAs and general contaminated sites work, storm water management, and other related office and field-based environmental services.
As a member of the R&M team, the Environmental Specialist will provide exemplary personalized service to R&M’s many valued clients, each day functioning within an interdisciplinary setting that includes dedicated environmental, engineering, geological, GIS, and surveying and mapping professionals. As a member of the Environmental Group, the successful applicant will not only work with other earth science professionals on interesting projects throughout Alaska, but will also support other disciplines in achieving project goals.

The Environmental Specialist will report to the Group Manager of Environmental Services.
This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental/natural science or related discipline with two to five years of professional experience, although more experienced applicants are encouraged to inquire. CESCL certification, wetland delineation experience, and knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations is preferred. The successful applicant will possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively prioritize workloads to respond to client needs efficiently and effectively. This position will be based in our Anchorage office, with the opportunity to travel throughout Alaska for generally short periods of time, in all seasons. Applicant must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be ready to perform field work as required.
