R&M was the prime consultant for  studying the feasibility of constructing a roller compacted concrete dam at the Watana Site, in lieu of the earth embankment dam that was originally considered at that site in the early 1980s studies. Our work included a review of the seismic studies performed between 1980 and 1981, relative to (i) the current understanding of the seismic environment, and (ii) FERC’s state-of-practice for evaluating seismic hazards for hydroelectric projects.
